Royse City High School senior, Nathalie Barsoum, has been selected to co-host the awards ceremony for the Student Television Network convention to be held in Orlando, California – March 20-24. Barsoum auditioned for the position by submitting a video online.  She was selected out of numerous entries from high school students from across the nation.

"It’s really a great honor.  I was just hoping to be a presenter but to be the co-host of the entire closing ceremony is so exciting,"  Barsoum said

Barsoum is a member of the advanced video production class at RCHS called RCTV.  In this class, Barsoum and other members of the team produce a bi-weekly news show about students at the school.  She has been a member of RCTV for three years and has worked as a reporter, videographer and producer.  In 2012, Barsoum was a member of the RCTV crew that traveled to St. Croix in the Virgin Islands where she interned at the ABC affiliate TV station – WSVI Channel 8.

Besides RCTV, Barsoum is a member of the band; Destination Imagination Team, Interact Club, Tennis Team, Diversity Club, Chess Club, and National Honor Society.   She also was recently named as a candidate for Top Dog, sponsored by the RC Education Foundation.  In the fall, she was a member of the homecoming court.

This is the third time for Barsoum to attend the STN convention. The Student Television Network is a non-profit organization that provides high school broadcasting programs with support, workshops and an annual convention.  The organization has over 2500 members from 100 high schools.
